I was sent a One-Size Best Bottom AI2 Diaper with snaps in Green Giraffe. This print is high competition for my favorite print in our stash!

I also received 3 of Best Bottom's Stay Dry Inserts. These inserts are made of 4 layers of super thirsty microfiber topped with a super soft no-pill fleece pulling wetness away from baby's bottom which keeps them feeling dry.

The inserts come in 3 sizes: Small (birth-14lbs), Medium (11-22lbs), & Large (16-35lbs). I got the Mediums since my little man is just over the 11 lb mark.

Something that you need to remember when using inserts like these is that you only put the fleece side against the baby's bum, NEVER the microfiber side. The microfiber is very scratchy & drying & could cause your baby to get a rash. You can see what I mean by running your hand over the microfiber. :) With Best Bottom diapers it is easy to not make this mistake because of the snap in insert feature.

Here are the inserts, the 2 on the left are fleece side up, the one of the left is microfiber side up. On the insert on the right you can barely see one of the snaps that I mentioned above, there is also one on the lower part of the insert. These snap onto the cover to keep the insert in place.


The inside of the diaper is wipeable, a double layer of PUL, so you can just wipe it quickly with a wipe between changes. Best Bottom Diapers also have great leg gussets.

This diaper is GREAT!
We have not had any leaks in this diaper & we have been using it for a few weeks now.

This wet bag is made of high quality PUL with a zipper closure. I love the PUL on this bag! It isn't a seperate liner like some wetbags that I have, it is all one piece, the PUL is attached to the outer of the bag.


There's this handy little loop with a snap so you can hang it from your changing table or where ever need be!


I haven't used it yet, but there is also a fleece tab on the inside for a drop of essential oil.

Here is the wet bag stuffed full! The diapers inside are not folded up nicely, there are rolled up & stuffed in as they would be after a change.

Happy Mama Sewing Nursing Cover Review

One our readers, Ellie, had the chance to review a nursing cover from Happy Mama Sewing! Here it is...


I was tickled pink to be chosen as the first fan reviewer! I’m a nursing mom to a wiggly nineteen week old daughter, so a nursing cover is a must have. I told Mama’s Giveaways the colors and patterns I like and I received a gorgeous nursing cover [from Happy Mama Sewing]. I love how the patterns and colors were so me! I love pulling out my stylish nursing cover from my diaper bag and showing it off. I also love that my new nursing cover is unique and not mass produced. I’ve used the cover for a little more than a month now. It’s nice.

I think it’s genius to put little weights in the ends of the cover. That really helped anchor the cover. I didn’t use it outdoors since I live in the Midwest and we are just now seeing the sunshine! I think the anchors will be wonderful when nursing outdoors and will keep the wind from exposing me.


I also loved the little pockets sewn into the bottom edges. It was just the right size for my cell phone. What a great idea! I found myself wishing for a miniature little burp cloth to fit into that pocket because I always forget to pack burp cloths.


The nursing cover has held up well to my many washings. I’m a bit of a germaphobe so every time I used the cover in public, I threw it in the washing machine when I got home. I also dried it and I’ve had no problems.

There were a few tiny hiccups. I found myself wishing the cover was a little bit wider and longer in length. I’m a petite lady but I had a hard time keeping both shoulders covered. Maybe it’s because my baby is so wiggly, but perhaps a bit more fabric would’ve made sure I was completely covered.

Also, I had a hard time with the plastic boning. Happy Mama Sewing did send a card with instructions on how to keep the curve in the boning and did warn that it might go flat. It did. I didn’t want to bother with keeping a book on it to get the shape back (I’m lazy). Instead, I rolled it up straight from the dryer and that seemed to keep the boning in shape.



Another hiccup was I wasn’t able to ever position the boning correctly so I could peek down at my daughter. I didn’t have a problem with this with my other cover. For some reason, I could never figure out how to get it to sit right, so it was mostly just flat against me. I wasn’t crazy about that.

Overall, here’s my high points & low points:
High points: Gorgeous print, handmade and unique, anchored weights, and little pockets sewn into the bottom edges.
Low points: I’m plastic boning challenged and it never seemed to work for me.

Wild Moutain Mommies Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

Ohhh Fluff, I love our Fluff!

Wild Mountain Mommies is a momma run company. I'd call her a WAHM but Cristina works out of the home too! (Can you say busy!?)

Wild Mountain Mommies (a.k.a. WMM) sent me TWO fluffy cloth diapers to review!

Both on their smallest settings:


She sent me the diapers already prepped, so I just washed them with our diaper wash the next day (Cold rinse on the dirty diapers, threw in the WMM for the hot wash, then an extra cold rinse. Then, dry inserts on hot, add the covers for dry on low heat.)

The first diaper that I received is a Sz Small Pocket Diaper. She added an extra row of snaps to be sure this diaper would fit my little man, but we've had no problems. :) The estimated weight range for this diaper is 8-18lbs.


It has a PUL outer & soft microfleece inner. The insert is made up of 2 layers hemp fleece, folded in half to make 4 layers.


The first time I put Weston (Approx 11 lbs) in this diaper he wore it for quite a while before I heard it; a huge poopsplosion! You know what I'm talking about, the ones you think are going to come up out the back of the diaper? Yeah, one of those. But it didn't! The Wild Mountain Mommies diaper contained it all!


The second diaper that I received is a One-Size Pocket Diaper. It has a PUL outer with jersey embellished wings & a cotton velour inner. The insert for this diaper is also hemp fleece to be folded in half for faster drying time. The estimated weight range on this diaper is 10-35+lbs.


The first time that I put Brooklynn (26.5 lbs) in this diaper she wore it for several hours (naptime!) and for a short while after, no leaks!

Bottom line? There aren't many diapers that I trust to not leak for my kiddos to wear out of the house & WMM are one of them! Great diapers indeed!

I am so excited to be able to review a Pillowcase Dress from Happy Mama Sewing for Mama’s Giveaways & Modern-N-Crunchy!

I tore open the package as soon as I received it and was delighted to see an adorable Pillowcase Dress AND a matching reversible hat! How precious!


I love how the fabric coordinated on the dress. The main part of the dress had an adorable polka dot pattern while the coordinating fabric was plaid. Perfect combo for this mama.


I immediately washed the dress and hat. I washed on gentle in cold in a lingerie bag to protect the dress and hat. I laid it flat to dry. As soon as it was dry I had to try it on.


It’s cold where we are at here in Tennessee so I layered it with a pink top and pink babylegs.


I love how versatile this dress is. With the ribbon ties at the top I can make it as small as I need to for my tiny girl. It’s easy to put on and tie. I can even double knot to discourage tiny fingers from taking off the dress.


The dress works perfectly by itself as well as layered to keep your sweet one warm during colder days. So this is something you can use year round. How perfect is that! The dress even looks great with jeans making it a fashionable piece for mama to enjoy and baby to look great in.


Quality material and quality sewing makes this a great purchase. Becky has an eye for detail. The seams are straight and she takes the time to iron the edges down to keep the dress laying great on your little one.

My little man is still only about 11 pounds so the fit isn't all that great on him. (They are working on that!) But he has worn it a few times around the house without leaks.


The legs just aren't as snug as I would like. In my (humble) opinion, the need to add an extra row of rise snaps for the itty babys.

The bum is a bit bulky.

So I decided to try this diaper out on my 26lb - almost 3 year old. She wore the diaper for a few hours with just the single microfiber insert that came with it.


When I changed her I thought, "Did she even pee?" So I thouched the inside (Yea, ewww gross!) and it didn't feel wet at all! I seriously thought she hadn't pee'd. Then I pulled the insert out & yep, it was wet! The inner isn't super soft like some diapers that are made with furry, fluffy fleece, but it does an amazing job at keeping the moisture away from baby's bum! I was super impressed!
